Well as I reported last time the king salmon are starting to show up. With the upwelling in water temp. in the shallow water, 75-125' most of the guides in are area have moved offshore to the 400'- 650' range. The salmon are being caught from 75'-105' down. Spoons and cut-bait have both been taking fish. One thing to remember is that the spiny waterflea is getting real heavy in the whole lake. The best remedy is using heavy line. 30 lbs. test line. For the bass fishermen who read this update, 25-30' of water has still been the best for catching 1-4 lbs. fish mostly on softshell crawfish. Good luck and enjoy the warm temperatures of summer, and remember to bring the whole family out for a day to remember in Lake Ontario. Capt. Charlie and Frank DeNoto |
