Winter hours announced for Eddy Discovery Center

Michigan Department of Natural Resources officials today announced the winter schedule for the Eddy Discovery Center at the Waterloo Recreation Area in Chelsea.

The Eddy Discovery Center will be closed Dec. 23 through Jan. 1, 2003. The center reopens on Jan. 2 at 9 a.m.

During January and February, the center will be open Tuesday through Saturday, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The trails will be open daily for hiking, skiing and snowshoeing, from 8 a.m. until dusk. The first program of the new year will be winter birding for beginners, scheduled for Jan. 11 at 9 a.m.

The Eddy Discovery Center is located on Bush Road between Pierce and McClure Roads in Chelsea. A state park motor vehicle permit is required for entry. Permits are $4 for the day or $20 for an annual, which is valid at any Michigan State Park.
