Maybury State Park to host Harvest Festival

Maybury State Park and Maybury Farm officials today announced the 12th
annual Harvest Festival will be held Oct. 13, 12-4 p.m.
The festival showcases traditional autumn activities on the
farm, including wool spinning and weaving, blacksmithing, cider
pressing, herb crafting, harvesting demonstrations and grain processing.
A new feature this year includes an antique steam engine operating
various small farm machines. The children's area includes a hay maze,
games, and craft activities. Horse-drawn hayrides to the pumpkin patch
and refreshments will be available for an additional fee. All activities
begin at the Maybury Farm Classroom.
Throughout each weekend of the month, Maybury Farm offers
horsedrawn hayrides to the pumpkin patch. Visitors enjoy the sights and
sounds of autumn as the wagon rolls through woods and fields. The cost
is $5/adult and $4/child, and includes one pumpkin per rider. The rides
are offered from 1-4 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting.

A state park motor vehicle permit is required for entry to the
park. Maybury is located on Eight Mile Rd., one mile west of Beck Rd. in
Northville Township. For more information, call 248-349-3858.
