PROUD LAKE RECREATION AREA HOSTS SPRING BLOOMS FESTIVAL|
LANSING--Proud Lake Recreation Area in Commerce Township
host its first Annual Spring Blooms Festival for campers
April 19-21, 2002. Campers will be invited to join in an egg
hunt, a hay ride and various spring activities. In addition,
each camper will receive a native Michigan tree seedling to
take home and plant.
This is the perfect opportunity for campers to kick off the
2002 camping season. Proud Lake Recreation Area offers 130
modern campsites. As a "modern" campground, it includes
shower and restroom facilities and electricity provided -
all for only $18 a night. Campers can bring their boats to
the boat launch, ride their horses on the bridle trails or
go fishing. Canoes are available for rental, and a picnic
shelter offers the perfect place to gather. This park, set
on a chain of Huron River lakes, is popular among anglers
because the lakes are stocked with trout each spring by the
Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
