SNOWBURST FESTIVAL AT PORCUPINE MOUNTAINS
WILDERNESS STATE PARK

LANSING--An afternoon of family fun is planned for this
year's SnowBurst Festival on Saturday, Feb. 23, at Porcupine
Mountains Wilderness State Park. Activities include ski
races, mule-drawn sleigh rides, a guided snowshoe hike,
childrens' games, live music, a spaghetti dinner, lantern
light cross country skiing, and an evening torchlight parade
and fireworks display.
SnowBurst festivities begin at noon at the Porcupine
Mountains Winter Sports Area located three miles west of
Silver City. The ski area offers 15 alpine ski runs and more
than 40 kilometers of groomed cross-country ski trails. Ski
lifts operate daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and children
12 and under ski free.
SnowBurst is sponsored by the Friends of the Porkies
and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Parks and
