FISHING TOURNAMENT LAND USE PERMITS
AVAILABLE FROM PARKS AND RECREATION BUREAU

LANSING--Individuals or organizations holding fishing
tournaments at boat launches and boating access sites owned
or administered by the Michigan Department of Natural
Resources must obtain a land use permit prior to holding the
event. The permits will be issued by the DNR state park or
field office nearest to the boat launch or access site where
the tournament is being planned.
Permit fees will be determined by the number of boats
participating in the tournament. A $10 fee will be charged
for the first 15 boats, $20 for 16 to 30 boats, $30 for 31
to 45 boats and $10 for each additional 15 boats thereafter.
To request a land use permit from the DNR Parks and
Recreation Bureau, call 517-373-9900 with the name of the
boat launch or access site, and the county where it is
located. Parks and Recreation staff will be happy to connect
you to the proper state park or field office to facilitate
your permit purchase.
